Summary
About the role
This role leads the development and execution of best‑in‑class social media strategies across paid and organic channels, influencer partnerships, and digital activations that bring Tesco’s marketing campaigns to life. By delivering proactive and reactive content and leveraging cultural moments, you will ensure Tesco remains relevant, engaging, and visible across all major platforms.
Success in this position requires strong stakeholder management and seamless collaboration with internal teams, influencer
talent, multiple agencies, and affiliate partners. You will be hands‑on in planning, creating, and optimising social activity, driving both impactful campaigns and always‑on content.
You will be responsible for
Manage the planning, briefing, development, production, and execution of paid and organic social media content, including both proactive and reactive activity.
Collaborate with media partners to create Tesco content for third‑party pages and publishers.
Oversee reactive community management across all organic and dark‑posted content.
Schedule and deploy social media posts across all major platforms, including Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, and Snapchat.
Set clear measures and KPIs to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate the impact and efficiency of social activity.
Analyse customer behaviour, research, insights, and trends, working with creative and media agencies to build effective content plans.
Evaluate organic and paid media plans and recommendations to ensure alignment with brief objectives and platform opportunities.
Provide ongoing analysis, insights, and recommendations to optimise social media performance and enhance ways of working.
Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure campaign messaging is consistent across channels and aligned with wider business and customer needs.
Keep the team informed on planned activity, performance results, competitor movements, and test‑and‑learn opportunities.
Build strong relationships with agency partners, social media platforms, and influencers, managing day‑to‑day interactions with creative and media agencies.
You will need
Strong background in content marketing, with deep expertise across social media and influencer marketing.
Proven experience in social listening, reporting, and trend analysis to inform strategic decisions.
Solid understanding of retail customer behaviour and how it evolves in a fast‑changing market.
Skilled in defining KPIs, interpreting analytics, and measuring performance to drive continuous improvement.
