Our client, an established education provider in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Part Time SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Tutor to join their team. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualised lesson plans and teaching materials that cater to the specific needs of students with SEND
- Utilise a range of teaching methods, technologies, and resources to engage and support students in their learning
- Monitor student progress, provide regular feedback, and adjust teaching strategies as needed to ensure optimal learning outcomes
- Collaborate closely with parents, caregivers, and other professionals (e.g. , educational psychologists, occupational therapists) to ensure a holistic approach to student development
- Maintain detailed records and documentation related to student progress, lesson planning, and interventions
- Stay up-to-date with the latest SEND research, best practices, and educational policies to continuously improve your teaching approach
- Contribute to the wider SEND team by sharing knowledge, participating in professional development activities, and providing support to colleagues
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant teaching qualification (e.g. , PGCE, QTS) with a specialisation in SEND or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience working as a SEND Tutor or in a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of SEND best practices, teaching methods, and strategies
- Proven ability to work effectively with children and young people who have diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask
- Passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young learners
- Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to stay up-to-date with the latest SEND research and best practices
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Additional qualifications or training in specific SEND areas (e.g. , dyslexia, autism, ADHD)
- Experience working in a tutoring or educational setting within the Cambridge, Cambridgeshire area
- Familiarity with the local SEND support network and resources
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital learning tools
