Summary

We are looking for a Commercial Manager for our Rail & Aviation division. This is a nationwide role overseeing projects across the North of England. In this position, you will report directly to the Head of Commercial for Rail and Aviation, taking responsibility for commercial aspects of Kier Rail & Aviation portfolio.

Location: Nationwide - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required

Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

What will you be responsible for?

As Commercial Manager, you'll be working within the Commercial team, you will be responsible for leading and managing all commercial, contractual, and financial aspects of project delivery, ensuring robust cost control, risk management, change control, and compliance with internal commercial standards and governance.

Your day to day will include:

-Commercial responsibility and accountability for pre-contract through to final account

-Preparing, managing and reporting project budgets, forecasts, and CVR reconciliations, leading cash flow forecasting, financial performance reporting and change management, managing final accounts, including negotiation and agreement with clients

-Leading procurement strategy and subcontractor appointment, utilising any internal frameworks, negotiating subcontract terms and managing commercial performance of the supply chain

-Contributing to bid reviews, commercial strategy, and business improvement initiatives

-Acting as key commercial interface with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners, providing commercial input to senior management and project teams



What are we looking for?

This role of Commercial Manager is great for you if:

-Academic and professional qualifications commensurate with a Commercial Manager, MRICS / MCICES / MCIOB or working towards

-Proven experience at a senior commercial level, managing and administrating NEC Option C and E contracts

-Ability to inspire, lead, and communicate effectively across diverse teams and projects

-A full driving licence
