Summary


Rehabilitation Assistant – Band 3 (Amputee Rehabilitation)

We are looking to recruit an experienced and compassionate Rehabilitation Assistant to join our specialist Amputee Therapy Team, providing inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation at the Douglas Bader Rehabilitation Centre and Queen Mary’s Hospital.

This is a Band 3 Therapy Assistant role, working under the supervision and delegation of registered Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, delivering goal‑directed rehabilitation programmes to patients following limb loss.

The post holder will:

* Deliver delegated therapy interventions following assessment by a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist

* Progress treatment programmes within agreed parameters

* Work independently at times, while remaining accountable to the supervising therapist

* Provide practical support to patients in prosthetic rehabilitation, mobility, ADLs and self‑management

This role does not involve autonomous assessment, clinical decision‑making or independent treatment planning beyond the Rehabilitation Assistant scope of practice.

We are seeking a candidate who:

* Has experience working in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting

* Has a clear understanding of the Rehabilitation Assistant role and its boundaries

* Enjoys delivering hands‑on, practical rehabilitation support

* Is looking to develop and consolidate their role as a Therapy Assistant within a specialist service

* Values continuity of care and long‑term contribution within a multidisciplinary team
