Summary
Fixed term contract (1st March – 30th June 2026) with potential for full time work for right candidate.
We need an experienced machinery operator, preferably with previous potato planting work, to join our team and play a key role in establishing over 200 hectares of seed potato.
The cropping area covers ground in Devon and Somerset.
Key requirements for the job:
• Primarily operating a John Deere tractor and trailed Dewulf 3-row belt planter.
• Familiarity with GPS, especially John Deere Greenstar is essential due to the planting of multiple varieties in one field.
• Be able to follow written instructions and work to a planting plan, completing necessary paperwork and records accurately.
• A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude with an ability to work under pressure and as part of a small team.
• To have a flexible approach and willing to work long hours.
• Good communication skills, liaising with senior leadership team members.
• Good workshop and equipment maintenance skills.
• Telehandler certificate.
Full UK drivers licence required
Due to location, own transport will be necessary
