Summary
Neway International are seeking a Resident Engagement and Caseworker to join our client based with the London Borough of Islington.
Location: Town Hall, Islington
Hours: 35 per week
Contract: Temporary – until 27 April 2026
Start Date: 2 February 2026
Rate: PAYE £23.51 per hour / Ltd/Umbrella £31.09 per hour

This role sits within Islington’s Community Wealth Building directorate, supporting the borough’s commitment to improving employment outcomes for local residents. The iWork service plays a key role in connecting residents to job opportunities, employer networks, and personalised employment support.
The Role
The Resident Engagement and Caseworker will support Islington residents to secure sustained, good‑quality paid employment. The role involves providing advice, information, employer engagement, and practical medium‑term support to help residents access opportunities that match their skills and aspirations.
You will work closely with the iWork service to source candidates from the widest possible talent pool, engage residents across the community, and assess their suitability for roles within specific sectors.
The role also includes a duty officer function, offering advice and guidance to incoming enquiries and, where necessary, holding a caseload of residents who require additional support not available through other local agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting residents to secure sustained paid employment through tailored advice and practical support.
Engaging with residents to promote employment opportunities across a range of sectors.
Assessing residents’ skills, experience, and suitability for employer requirements.
Working within the iWork service to source candidates from diverse community talent pools.
Providing duty officer support, responding to enquiries and offering guidance.
Caseloading residents who require additional support beyond what other agencies can offer.
Working in line with the iWork procedure manual, ensuring a person‑centred approach with paid employment as the primary goal.
Addressing additional barriers to employment as secondary priorities.
Candidate Requirements
Experience supporting individuals into employment, training, or similar outcomes.
Strong communication and engagement skills with diverse communities.
Ability to assess skills, match candidates to opportunities, and provide tailored support.
Experience delivering advice, guidance, or casework support.
Ability to work within structured procedures and quality standards.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
