TeacherActive is working closely with a supportive school to recruit a qualified SEND Teacher (QTS) to work within an Inclusion Hub, supporting pupils with SEMH needs. The majority of pupils are working within KS1 (Years 1–4) and are operating significantly below age-related expectations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate, resilient, and nurturing teacher who is confident in supporting pupils with additional needs and understands the importance of consistency, relationships, and structure.
The RoleAs the SEND Teacher, you will:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs

Support children working significantly below expected levels through targeted interventions

Use your strong curriculum knowledge to adapt learning effectively

Work with pupils who may have experienced trauma, using appropriate strategies to support regulation and engagement

Confidently apply de-escalation strategies, recognising triggers and early warning signs
-
Lead, support, and direct Teaching Assistants to ensure consistent practice across the provision

Create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment that promotes progress and wellbeing
The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for a teacher who:

Holds QTS

Has proven experience working as a SEND / SEMH Teacher

Is confident planning for pupils with complex needs and learning gaps

Has experience delivering interventions and personalised learning programmes

Demonstrates strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

Understands trauma-informed practice

Is confident supporting and leading Teaching Assistants

Is patient, adaptable, and passionate about inclusive education
