Summary
Knowledge, skills, and experience:
• Demonstrable experience of managing or supervising staff, supporting their wellbeing and personal development. Experience of supporting Apprentices is particularly desirable.
• Knowledge of the principles of planned maintenance and the skills in time, project, and supplier management to work with a range of maintenance disciplines and the relevant legislative requirements, to ensure the site complies appropriately.
• Experience of planning works to a fixed budget.
• Focused, customer-service attitude, able to gain the trust of a variety of stakeholders, develop sound and innovative solutions in a clear and transparent manner, and provide effective feedback to customers.
• Ability to obtain specialist technical advice, on the basis of which decisions will be made.
• Knowledge of sustainability and energy efficiency measures.
• Proactive approach to maintaining a strong Health and Safety culture, including holding IOSH or equivalent qualification, although training is available for the right candidate.
• Effective numeracy and literacy to prepare reports for review at many levels.
• Strong ability to prioritise both own and others’ workloads, successfully balancing the reactive and proactive elements of the role.
• Ability to identify the need for new policies and procedures and to develop those, ensuring that all views are properly represented.
• IT competency particularly Microsoft Office packages.
• Effective written and verbal communications skills.
