Lead, influence and elevate our safety culture

We’re seeking a highly experienced Health & Safety Director to provide strategic leadership across our operations, ensuring compliance, robust risk management and continuous improvement. This role plays a key part in shaping the safety performance of our demolition, earthworks and asbestos divisions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain and oversee the company’s H&S Management System, ensuring all procedures, safe systems of work and documented processes are current and effective.
Provide leadership to our asbestos services division, supporting Contracts Managers, Supervisors and Operatives.
Guide, support and develop the H&S Officer team, ensuring professional growth, coordination and consistent standards.
Produce and review H&S documentation including Method Statements, Risk Assessments, CPPs and site induction materials for demolition, earthworks and asbestos abatement projects.
Plan and complete regular site audits and inspections, offering practical advice and coaching at all organisational levels.
Coordinate staff training requirements, working closely with the Training Coordinator to maintain competency across all teams.
Engage with clients, Principal Designers, HSE and trade associations, acting as a key safety representative for the business.
Oversee third‑party audits to maintain licences, accreditations and regulatory compliance.
Support pre‑qualification and tender submissions, providing robust H\&S content for bids.
What We’re Looking For

Strong, senior‑level H&S leadership experience within demolition, earthworks, construction or asbestos environments.
Excellent knowledge of UK H&S legislation (including CDM) and proven experience creating and developing safety culture.
Chartered or working toward CMIOSH, with relevant qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma).
Effective communicator with influence at all levels — site, senior management and external stakeholders.
A proactive, solutions‑focused leader with high professional standards.

We are committed to making reasonable adjustments throughout the application, recruitment, and onboarding processes for candidates that require additional support and/or adjustments to be made.
