Summary
Neway International are seeking a Social Work Assistant (SWA) to join our client based with Birmingham Children’s Trust.
Location: One Avenue & Lifford House (Hybrid working)
Hours: 36.5 per week, Monday–Friday, 08:45–17:15
Start Date: 19/12/2025 End Date:ongoing
Pay Rates: £13.70 PAYE / £17.65 Umbrella

The Role
As a Social Work Assistant, you will provide vital support to qualified social workers and contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the community while gaining valuable experience in social care.
Key Responsibilities
Assist social workers in managing caseloads and supporting children and families.
Undertake visits, assessments, and direct work with children under supervision.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with Trust policies.
Support the delivery of care plans and interventions.
Liaise with partner agencies and professionals to ensure coordinated support.
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience in a social care or related support role.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Car driver essential due to travel requirements across Trust sites.
Enhanced DBS check required.
