Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our database environments. The successful candidate will ensure the performance, security, integrity, and availability of company databases while supporting development and business teams.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar)
Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve issues
Perform database tuning, query optimization, and index management
Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
Ensure database security, access controls, and compliance with data protection policies
Manage database upgrades, patches, and migrations
Collaborate with developers on database design and best practices
Automate routine database tasks and maintenance processes
Provide 24/7 support for critical database systems when required
Document database configurations, procedures, and standards
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Proven experience as a Database Administrator
Strong SQL and database performance tuning skills
Experience with backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions
Knowledge of Linux/Windows server environments
Understanding of database security and compliance standards
Experience with cloud databases (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is an advantage
