Summary
To work as one team providing a safe, modern, efficient and effective Emergency Medicine service to the Leicester Royal Infirmary, University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) NHS Trust; and to deliver the highest quality of emergency care to the population of Leicester and the surrounding county (catchment population around 1 million). The responsibilities of the post are similar to that of the FY2, ST1 and ST2 training grade doctors. The main duties and responsibilities of this post are to; Carry out initial assessments, investigations and manage patients in the Emergency Department Have flexibility to work in all areas of the department including resus, majors, injuries and paediatrics. Be responsible for arranging admissions and discharge of patients in Emergency Department Ensure a safe a high standard of care for all our patients Assist with achieving the DOH Clinical Quality Indicators for Urgency and Emergency Care The ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team is essential to this post. You will be expected to work cohesively with therapists, Advanced Care Practitioners and Clinical Nurse Specialists in the department. The Emergency Department is fully computerised and it runs on the Nervecente Computer System for registration of patients, collection of patient details and retrieval of the clinical data. Patient tracking is operated via Nervecente and is the vital part of efficient functioning of ED and EDU.
