The Emergency Department at the Leicester Royal Infirmary is one of the busiest in the UK with good standards of care and performance. Our aim is to be one of the best acute and emergency service providers in the UK over the next five years.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our fast-paced and energetic team.

The responsibilities of the post are similar to that of the FY2, ST1 and ST2 training grade doctors. The main duties and responsibilities of this post are to;

· Carry out initial assessments, investigations and manage patients in the Emergency Department

· Have flexibility to work in all areas of the department including resus, majors, injuries and paediatrics.

· Be responsible for arranging admissions and discharge of patients in Emergency Department

· Ensure a safe a high standard of care for all our patients

· Assist with achieving the DOH Clinical Quality Indicators for Urgency and Emergency Care

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
