University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is pleased to offer an exciting role of a clinical fellow within the Complications-related Excess Weight (CEW) service which is a NHS England funded Tier 3 Paediatric Obesity service.
This post (0.6 WTE) involves working within the NHS England commissioned multidisciplinary (MDT) service for children and young people with complications related to excess weight.
The East Midlands CEW MDT comprises of 3 Consultants, dietitian, physiotherapist , physio technical instructor, Clinical support workers clinical Psychologist, Clinical Nurse Specialist and a Social worker.
This post will be based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary, which is one of the CEW MDT sites in the East Midlands with some cross site working.
The post holder will also be encouraged and supported to be involved in clinical projects and research activities.
The post holder will be expected to actively engage and take part in the MDT CEW clinics at Leicester and involve in the virtual MDT meetings with the Spoke centres. This will involve taking clinical queries, offering appropriate advice, developing clinical pathways, engagement in clinical/QI projects, data collection and analysis.
The post holder will also be expected to participate in governance activities such as audit quality improvement project or guideline development.
The post holder will be encouraged to engage in clinical research projects and systematic reviews.
The post holder can also make use of opportunities to strengthen experience in clinical Endocrinology and Diabetes.
