Summary

We are thrilled to present an incredible opportunity for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic educational setting in the vibrant area of Openshaw, Manchester. As a vital member of the support staff, you will work closely with the teaching team to deliver individualised support and guidance to students with special educational needs. Your role will involve assisting in the planning and delivery of engaging lessons, adapting materials to meet the specific needs of each learner, and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

The ideal candidate will possess a genuine enthusiasm for working with children and young people, coupled with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by learners with special educational needs. You will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues alike.

Key responsibilities:
- Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement personalised learning plans
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to learners with special educational needs
- Adapting teaching materials and resources to ensure accessibility for all learners
- Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
- Encouraging and supporting learners to develop their independence, self-esteem, and social skills
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with school policies and procedures

To excel in this role, you will have:
- A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field (e.g. , Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent)
- Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
- A comprehensive understanding of the UK curriculum and the strategies for differentiation
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting learners with diverse needs
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with best practices in SEN education
