Key responsibilities:
- Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement personalised learning plans
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to learners with special educational needs
- Adapting teaching materials and resources to ensure accessibility for all learners
- Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
- Encouraging and supporting learners to develop their independence, self-esteem, and social skills
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with school policies and procedures
To excel in this role, you will have:
- A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field (e.g. , Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent)
- Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
- A comprehensive understanding of the UK curriculum and the strategies for differentiation
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting learners with diverse needs
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with best practices in SEN education
