Summary

Senior Site Manager
Location: Bury St Edmunds
Project: £70m Commercial Build
Salary: £60-£70k + Package

Are you an experienced Senior Site Manager looking to take the lead on a landmark commercial development? We are recruiting on behalf of a respected Tier 1 main contractor delivering a £70m project with long-term pipeline and excellent career progression.

The Role:
As Senior Site Manager, you will play a key role in driving the successful delivery of a major commercial build. You will lead site operations, manage sub-contractors, maintain high standards of health & safety, and ensure the project meets quality and programme targets. This is a high-visibility role within a high-performing team, ideal for someone who enjoys leading large-scale, complex schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, and programme compliance


  • Lead and manage sub-contractor teams and site supervisors


  • Work closely with the Project Manager to deliver project milestones


  • Ensure all HSEQ policies and procedures are followed


  • Coordinate site logistics and resolve operational challenges promptly


  • Maintain excellent communication with clients, consultants, and the wider project team


    About You:

    • Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager for a Tier 1 main contractor is essential


    • Strong background in large-scale commercial or complex build projects


    • Experience on school or education sector builds is highly advantageous


    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills


    • A strong commitment to safety, quality, and project delivery excellence
