Summary

Crosshead Extrusion Setter – West Bromwich

Hours: 48 per week | Shift: Monday–Thursday 6am–6pm | Pay: £14/hr

Who We Are

Workforce Manufacturing are looking for an experienced Crosshead Extrusion Setter to join our West Bromwich team. We specialise in producing high-quality coated wires, hoses, and pipes. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with hands-on co-extrusion experience and knowledge of materials such as PVC, Polyurethane, Megalon, and Nylon.

The Role

As a Crosshead Extrusion Setter, you will:

  • Set up and operate extrusion machines safely and efficiently.


  • Maintain and check tools and equipment regularly.


  • Inspect incoming and outgoing materials to ensure quality standards are met.


  • Keep accurate production and quality records.


  • Maintain a clean, organised workspace in line with 5S standards.


  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes.


  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures.


  • Pack and prepare production outputs as required.


  • Support your team with any other duties assigned by your Team Leader.


    What We’re Looking For

    • Proven experience as a Setter/Operator in extrusion manufacturing.


    • Hands-on experience with co-extrusion, coating wires, or producing hoses/pipes.


    • Skilled with materials such as PVC, Polyurethane, Megalon, and Nylon.


    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


    • Motivation to achieve production targets while maintaining safety and quality standards.


    • Commitment to continuous improvement and company values.


    • Note: Blown film extrusion experience is not suitable for this role.


      Role Objectives

      • S – Achieve zero harm to yourself and colleagues.


      • Q – Ensure zero defective raw materials are accepted.


      • D – Maintain timely offloading of all raw materials.


      • C – Prevent downtime for machines due to material availability issues.
