We are recruiting for an exceptional Primary SEMH Teacher to join a supportive mainstream school in Openshaw, working within their specialised SEMH provision.
About the Role
- Position: Primary SEMH Teacher
- Location: Openshaw
- Contract: Temp-to-Perm
- Start: ASAP
- Salary: Paid to scale (MPS)
- Requirement: QTS essential
You will be teaching a small SEMH class (approximately 6-10 pupils) across primary ages. The provision supports pupils with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs, presenting challenging behaviours, so we are looking for someone with strong behaviour management skills, empathy, and a child-centred approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, personalised learning to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students.
- Implement effective behaviour regulation strategies.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, the SENCo, and external agencies.
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
About You
- QTS is required.
- Experience working within SEMH or similar SEND settings is highly desirable.
- Calm, consistent, and resilient approach to supporting challenging behaviours.
- Able to differentiate learning for a wide range of needs and abilities.
- Committed to helping pupils achieve both academically and emotionally.
