Job Title: Primary SEMH Teacher
Location: Wigan at a PRU
Contract: Temp with a view of a permanent role.
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hrs/week (08:30 - 16:00)
Our Partner is a specialist SEMH primary provision in Wigan, supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Primary SEMH Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching for KS1 and KS2 pupils (Years 3-6). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to young learners in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
About the Role
As a Primary SEMH Teacher, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons for KS1 & KS2 pupils, adapting teaching to meet SEMH and Autism needs

Implement effective behaviour and classroom management strategies

Support the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils

Work closely with support staff, parents, and multi-disciplinary teams to create tailored learning plans
-
Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that motivates and inspires pupils

Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing feedback and reporting as required
Person Specification / Minimum Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
-
Experience teaching in a primary school setting

Proven experience supporting SEMH or Autism pupils
-
Strong behaviour management and classroom management skills
-
No convictions; able to work with vulnerable children

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Passionate about making a positive impact on pupils' learning and wellbeing
