Requirements

You will be qualified to HNC level in a relevant discipline and have additional programme/project management experience.

Responsibilities

The Tay Cities Region Deal is a partnership comprising of the Angus, Dundee City, Fife, and Perth and Kinross Councils; the Higher Education and Further Education sector; the business sector; the region’s third sector; Tactran, VisitScotland, Scottish Enterprise and Skills Development Scotland.

The Scottish Government and UK Government will each invest up to £150 million in the Tay Cities Region Deal over 10 years.

This central investment from both Governments has the potential to lever in £400m of investment to deliver economic growth across the region, along with a commitment to creating 6,000 jobs. There are a significant number of Projects that will be delivered by 2029/30 as part of the Deal.

The Project Officer post will support the management of the Tay Cities Region Deal Programme within the Programme Management Office (PMO). The PMO plays a critical role in managing the day-to-day management of the overall Deal Programme and reporting to the Governments and Partnership. The main duties of the role includes the development of effective project management systems, supporting project owners in the development of their business cases, as well as effective project and programme monitoring and reporting. Currently, the particular focus of this role is finance, however, there will be an opportunity to review the focus of the role once in post.

The post will support the Programme Management team reporting into the Project Manager.

Although the employer is Dundee City Council the post is funded by the Tay Cities Partnership. The post holder will therefore operate across the wider region comprising the Angus, Dundee City, North East Fife and Perth & Kinross Council areas.

The Individual

You will have proven expertise in analysis, insight, research, project management and engagement. You will have successful partnership working and networking with key stakeholders, eg citizens, voluntary sector, business communities, government and public agencies. In addition, you will have experience of researching and understanding and manipulation of data as well as experience of presenting information through a variety of styles.

You will have an understanding and the ability to operate effectively within local government and with national partners.

You will also have excellent IT skills using current software, excellent communication skills and the ability to work outside normal working hours as required.
