We are working with a warm, inclusive specialist school in Rochdale seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing environment, where you will support learners with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
The school aims to empower students to achieve their full potential, creating a safe and supportive environment for their emotional and academic growth.
About the Role as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant:
- Provide expert 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs
- Deliver tailored interventions to help pupils engage in lessons and overcome barriers to learning
- Provide whole class cover when necessary, working collaboratively with the Class Teacher and other Teaching Assistants
- Mentor and guide pupils, promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviours
- Support the school team in creating an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment
- What We're Looking For in a Level 3 Teaching Assistant:
Proven experience working with children with SEMH or additional learning needs
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
GCSEs in English and Maths (level 9-4 or level 2)
A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach to working with children with social, emotional, and mental health needs
Strong understanding of SEND, SEMH, and autism strategies
To Be Eligible You Must:
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK
- Have an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the update service (or be willing to apply)
- Provide two professional child-related references
