Job Description
Knowsley Borough Council is seeking a Social Worker – Standard (Adults) to join the Adult Social Care directorate under the Executive Director (Health & Wellbeing). This temporary role will provide cover during the recruitment process, ensuring safeguarding and support for adults with care and support needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Work under the supervision of the Adult Safeguarding Team Manager and Assistant Team Manager within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
Ensure the needs of adults referred to the team are identified, met, safeguarded, and monitored in line with the Care Act 2014 and Knowsley’s safeguarding policies.
Provide safeguarding advice and support to professionals and members of the public when concerns are raised.
Undertake safeguarding enquiries in consultation with key professionals, minimising risk and the impact of potential abuse on adults and their carers.
Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with partner agencies delivering services to adults with care and support needs.
Ensure compliance with multi-agency safeguarding policies, procedures, and threshold guidance.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration.
Experience in adult safeguarding and working within a multi-agency environment.
Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and safeguarding legislation.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage caseloads and deliver timely safeguarding interventions.
Commitment to collaborative working and promoting the welfare of adults with care and support needs.
