Personal Support Worker for a little boy P/T School Hols only in Cramlington - £13.74ph

Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: eae444b5

We are looking for that special someone to support an intelligent, loving, hardworking mum with her 7-year-old non-verbal son, to access activities in the community.

This role is 2:1 for 6 hours per week during school holidays (13 weeks) whereby you will work alongside a colleague to enable this little boy to get out and about and have fun, whilst being kept safe. With diagnoses of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Pica this little one needs constant supervision as he has no sense of safety.

When out and about he is supported with reins or is in a pushchair. As with lots of young children, he can experience periods of dysregulation so a calm, attentive proactive approach is required to support him during those times. There will be personal care in this role e.g. nappies, toileting. This energetic, curious, sensory driven little boy’s favourite place is the beach. He thrives with messy, tactile play and enjoys stacking, building, spinning and water play based activities.

Are you patient, kind, resilient, experienced in looking after children with additional needs and have a good understanding of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Pica?

Please apply if you feel you are the person we are looking for. You will make a positive difference to this child and his family.
