This post is based within the Advice Shop where the successful candidate will work to promote financial inclusion and alleviate poverty through advice and advocacy in the areas of welfare benefits, money, housing and energy advice.


The post holder will be based within the Income Maximisation Team working with vulnerable groups, people who are facing financial difficulties and/or looking for information and advice about improving their long term financial outlook..


S/he will advocate on behalf of customers with other Council departments and third party organisations.


Experience giving money/debt, benefits, energy or housing advice is desirable and the ability to research and use analytical skills is important. Empathy, listening skills and understanding are vital to excel in the role. Training will be provided as part of the induction programme and ongoing training and support will be provided to the successful candidate.
