About the Home
We are a newly established 6-bedded Children’s Home in Studley, providing high-quality care and support for children aged 6–14 with learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities.
Currently, the home supports 5 boys with big, fun personalities each unique and full of energy!
The dedicated team of staff work days and waking nights to ensure the highest standard of care, promoting independence, safety, and meaningful engagement for all young people.
Many of our children are non-verbal or have limited verbal communication, so experience with alternative communication methods and sensory-based support is essential.
The Role
As Deputy Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role in the smooth running of the home, supporting the Registered Manager in all aspects of operations and care delivery.
Your role will involve:
Leading and motivating the team to provide consistent, high-quality care
Shift planning and rota management to ensure effective staffing levels
Supporting Regulation 44 visits and liaising with Ofsted
Conducting supervisions, training, and staff development
Ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and safeguarding standards
Taking charge of the home in the Registered Manager’s absence
Maintaining detailed records, care plans, and reports
Promoting a positive, nurturing environment where children can thrive
Working Pattern
40 hours per week (approx. 20 hours on shift / 22 hours admin)
Every other weekend working one day
Weekday shifts typically 7:30am–9:00pm, with admin time flexibly planned
About You
To be successful, you’ll need:
Experience as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader, or Deputy Manager within a children’s residential/ adult Residential or disability setting
A passion for supporting children with complex needs, learning disabilities, and communication challenges
Excellent organisational and leadership skills
A strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Quality Standards
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Level 5 Leadership & Management desirable or willingness to work towards it
