Home Office Digital (HOD) designs, builds and develops services for the rest of the department and for government. Every year our systems support up to 3 million visa applications, checks on 100 million border crossings, up to 8 million passport applications and deliver 140 million police checks on people, vehicles and property.

The Senior Technical Business Engagement Manager will cover a training manager role for HOD.

You will be part of the HOD Training Team embedded in your area of the Directorate. You will work closely with other members of the team to ensure alignment across the Directorate, to ensure we have the training in place to help all colleagues engage with HOD products as they are launched.

Technical Business Engagement roles within HOD are aligned to the Government Communications Profession.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting the Technical Business Engagement Lead in developing and implementing training strategies across HOD, delivering key messages to a range of stakeholders.
  • Delivering key training products using a variety of methods. Mapping, and managing, stakeholders to understand their needs and ensuring learning across the business is embedded.
  • Producing and managing training products, aligned with wider HOD strategies and messaging, to support staff engagement and accessibility requirements.
  • Developing key training provision including classroom, video, written and e-learning content with accuracy and confidence.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of training engagement, identifying lessons learned and areas of improvement.
  • Developing and delivering engagement events for the Portfolio, ensuring they reflect the Home Office values and objectives. Contributing to HOD wide staff engagement events.
  • Working with wider members of the Technical Business Engagement Team to ensure consistency in messaging and approaches across the Directorate.
  • Sharing best practice ways of working and approaches, working with HR and Finance professionals.

Travel

Occasional travel may be required to other work locations within the UK and may include overnight stays. All related costs will be reimbursed in line with Home Office policy.

Working Pattern

This role is available on a full-time basis with the option of compressed hours working. This role is also suitable for part-time working hours, with a minimum requirement to work four or five days / 28 hours per week due to business requirements.
