Long Term Futures is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a well-established specialist school near Newark. The school supports children and young people aged 5-16 with autism and associated special educational needs (SEN).
The school provides a calm and structured environment where students can feel safe, supported and ready to learn. With small class sizes and a strong focus on wellbeing, the team works together to help each young person develop confidence, independence and life skills.
Role Overview
- Support students on a 1:1 and small group basis.
- Help pupils build confidence, positive routines, and independence.
- Support emotional regulation and behaviour management.
- Record progress and communicate effectively with staff and families.
- Provide personal care when required.
- Accompany pupils on off-site learning and community activities.
About You
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant is essential.
- Experience supporting children or young people with autism or SEN is essential.
- Calm, patient and flexible approach to supporting different needs.
- Relevant qualification is desirable but not essential.
