Summary

Construction Teaching Assistant - Alternative Provision

Plymouth | Full-time, Term Time Only | £85-£95 per day

Do you have a background in construction, carpentry, or a skilled trade - and a passion for helping young people succeed? We're looking for a Construction Teaching Assistant to support students in a vocational learning environment where hands-on education makes all the difference.

This role is based in a specialist provision supporting pupils aged 14-18 who thrive through practical, real-world learning.

What you'll be doing:

Assisting with delivery of construction-based sessions (woodwork, basic plumbing, site safety, etc.)

Supporting students in using tools safely and correctly

Helping maintain a safe, tidy and well-equipped workshop or classroom

Supporting students with SEMH or additional needs who benefit from a practical learning style

Supporting literacy/numeracy within the context of construction tasks (e.g. measuring, reading plans)
