Are you organised, proactive, and passionate about making information work smarter for everyone?We're looking for a Knowledge and Information Manager to lead the way in how we store, manage, and share critical information across our business—especially in support of our building management systems (CAFM) and related processes.
What You'll Be DoingYou'll work across two major sites—Armada and MOD Corsham—while being based at HM Naval Base Devonport. Your role will ensure that documents, data, and knowledge are:
-Easy to find
-Up to date
-Secure
-Used effectively by teams across the business
Key ResponsibilitiesManaging Knowledge
-Develop smart systems for collecting, storing, and sharing information
-Maintain organised, accessible digital libraries and databases
-Promote knowledge-sharing across teams
-Support research data storage and analysis
-Write clear reports and summaries
-Track physical and digital resources
-Advise on copyright and version control
Information Governance
-Ensure compliance with data protection and information security standards
-Maintain data accuracy and consistency
-Manage access to sensitive information
-Use tools like Power BI to create business insights
Working with Others
-Collaborate with teams to understand their information needs
-Deliver training and workshops on systems and processes
-Translate technical requirements into practical solutions
-Lead projects to improve knowledge and information management
Additional Tasks (Depending on Experience)
-Train staff and clients
-Support IT infrastructure and related projects
-Write accessible summaries of research findings
What We're Looking ForEssential:
-Strong organisational and communication skills
-Experience managing digital information systems
-Understanding of data protection and governance
-Ability to work independently and lead projects
Desirable:
-Experience with CAFM systems
-Familiarity with Power BI or similar reporting tools
-Background in facilities or building management
