Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker with professional development experience. East Ayrshire Council has a longstanding commitment to the training and development of our workforce and, to those coming into the Social Work profession. This post will offer the right applicant the opportunity to work across Adult, Children and Families, and Justice social work services. The post holder will support our career pathway learning and development offers for social work practitioners. They will also support multi-agency Public Protection agendas and those of our practice learning agendas in line with demands and requirements of the wider team.

The role requires a self-driven, motivated and passionate Social Worker who has an innovative approach to developing sustainable practitioner development programmes. They will have responsibility for designing and delivering creative, relevant and interactive programmes of learning and development activity to support the social work workforce in the delivery of high-quality social work services and effective interventions.

Reporting to the Social Work Practice Development Manager and, working as part of a wider team, the post holder will contribute to building on our previous and existing learning and in directly contributing to a delivery plan that ensures our social work practitioners are well supported in their Continuous Professional Learning and professional development experiences across the span of their career.

Requirements

The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Council.

Please note:- PVG members' records are constantly updated with any new vetting information that arises. Any information that is disclosed on a PVG Scheme Record or Scheme Record Update, if relevant to the post being applied for, will be discussed with the applicant prior to any formal offer of employment being made.

This is a full time permanent post based within Children's HC & JS, Learning Team.

Work Pattern - Monday - Thursday 09:00 - 17:00 Friday 09:00 - 16:00

Annual Salary - £46,173 - £48,958

The workstyle for this ‘Flexible’ - 50% -79% of your time in an office location/ multiple work locations.

You will work at your administrative base or another agreed office location between 2.5 to 4 days per week and only occasionally from home.

The admin base for this post is The Johnnie Walker Bond, Kilmarnock.
