About us

We are looking for dedicated, motivated and empathetic call handlers to join our Vale of Glamorgan Council call centre team situated in the heart of Barry. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the first point of contact for residents seeking support and information about a range of services that the council provides. Your role will involve supporting our residents including some of our most vulnerable with raising requests, signposting to appropriate services in our community, reporting concerns and taking payments for many Council services.

About the role

Pay Details: Grade 4, SCP 5 - 7, £25,583 - £26, 403 (pro rata), £13.26 - £13.69 (hourly Rate)
Days / Hours per Week: Monday to Friday 37 hours per week
Main Place of Work: Civic Offices, Barry
Description: Contact OneVale is a first point of contact for all Council wide services to the public and other customers of the Vale of Glamorgan. Our teams provide information, advice, signposting and referral for further assessment across a range of communication channels, principally by telephone and email.

About you/You will need:

Previous experience in a call center /customer service environment
Good computer skills
Excellent communication skills
The ability to record information accurately
Willingness to work as part of a busy team
