The Opportunity
The University of Dundee is seeking a dynamic leader to take on the role of Head of Partnering and Change. You will lead the People Partnering and Change function, acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and delivering major organisational change programmes that shape leadership, culture, and performance across the University.
Principal Duties
You will:

Provide strategic advice to senior leaders on organisational design, workforce strategy, and change.

Lead major people change programmes, ensuring alignment with University objectives and values.

Direct and support Strategic People Partners and the wider Partnering Team.

Contribute to the leadership of the People Directorate, aligning priorities and resources.

Develop a comprehensive change roadmap and support leaders through adoption and embedding.

Partner with Trade Unions and stakeholders to ensure consultation and collaboration are values-driven.
The Person
We are looking for a proven HR and change leader with credibility at the highest levels. You will combine strategic insight with the ability to deliver sustainable change, coach leaders, and embed values-aligned ways of working.

Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications
You should have extensive experience advising senior leaders in large, complex organisations, with a strong track record of leading people change programmes that deliver measurable impact. You will bring expertise in HR strategy, workforce planning, organisational design, and change management, alongside excellent leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills. Experience within higher education or other unionised sectors would be beneficial, as would professional qualifications in HR or change (CIPD, PRINCE2, Prosci). Knowledge of HR analytics and data-driven workforce planning would also be an advantage.

As Head of Partnering and Change, you will provide visible leadership across the Partnering function, ensuring people strategies are embedded and organisational change is delivered effectively. Working closely with the Director of People, you will help shape the University's future by strengthening leadership, enabling change, and ensuring people remain at the centre of decision-making.
