Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Royal London multidisciplinary neurotrauma and rehabilitation team to provide clinical and operational leadership to our Rapid Access Acute Rehabilitation (RAAR) pathway. The RAAR pathway is funded by NHSe, in each of the 4 Major Trauma Centres in London. This pathway has been developed to provide hyperacute neurorehabilitation for adults with neurological and traumatic injuries including traumatic brain injury.
You will be directly supported by the 8b AHP Clinical Lead for Neurosciences, Trauma and Neurological Rehabilitation. You will provide expert clinical leadership and work closely with speciality lead clinicians and the Emergency Care and Trauma Divisional Triumverates. You will also work closely with the other Clinical Therapy Leads and Therapy leadership team.
In this role, you work closely with the RAAR Neurological Rehab consultant assessing patients for the RAAR pathway and reviewing them on weekly ward round. You will also provide daily operational management of the RAAR pathway, ensuring safe patient flow through the pathway and delivery of the NHSE Key Performance Indicators.
The post holder will work collaboratively, alongside the neurotrauma clinical leads and RAAR multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent evidence based clinical care, improvements within patient experience and clinical outcomes.
The post holder will provide clinical and operational leadership to the Rapid access acute rehabilitation service (RAAR). The post holder will take responsibility for the assessment and admission of patients onto the RAAR pathway including coordination of patient care and optimization of flow to ensure timely discharge from the pathway.
The post holder will lead on complex case discussions and clinical decision making for those with neurological and traumatic injuries with regards to appropriate intervention and discharge destinations.
In conjunction with the 8b AHP clinical lead for Neurosciences, Trauma and Rehabilitation they will ensure that the RAAR pathway continues to develop and evolve providing a high quality service that is evidence based.
