Summary


The role will provide a dietetics service for patients undergoing neurorehabiliation, providing specialist nutrition support to patients recovering from neurological conditions. This will be an exciting opportunity to work autonomously to develop the dietetic service within this speciality. The role will also provide cover to the neurosciences and trauma wards which includes a variety of patients including those under neurology, neurotrauma, neurosurgery and trauma services. There will also be the opportunity to contribute to teaching and training for a variety of staff in the Trust. The ability to be flexible and organised is a key attribute of the successful candidate along with excellent communication skills.

To provide an evidence-based, effective and responsive dietetic service to the 8-bed neurorehabilitation service that provides Rapid Access to Acute Rahabilitaiton (RAAR). In addition to these beds, the role will also provide cover across the neurosciences (including neurology, neurotrauma and neurosurgery) and trauma wards. The role requires close working with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) including attending and contributing to ward rounds, board rounds and MDT meetings. To manage home enteral feeding discharges independently, liaising with all relevant specialist services to achieve this in a timely manner. To be responsible for planning and delivering specialist training to medical staff, nurses, students and other health care professionals.
To ensure that audit and quality improvement is undertaken on a regular basis.
