Summary

We are seeking 3 motivated Secure By Design & Information Assurance (IA) Support Higher Executive Officers (HEO's) to join us working on information assurance activities such as Secure by Design (SbD), risk management and compliance in support of in-service equipment within Field Army and operated by the Tri-Service Joint Aviation Command and in support of Home Command it's 6 subordinate organisations and Arms Length Bodies (ALB's).

These roles deliver assurance on the digital and information capabilities the Army currently operates (through to disposal) and articulate & supports improvements on how the Army defends, protects and reduces its information risk, across the digital enterprise. In this role, you are an integral part in protecting the UK against external and internal threats, providing assurance that capability leads and Senior Responsible Owners fulfil their obligations to appropriately secure the systems they are responsible for so that they operate as expected.

You will support the Senior Executive Officer (SEO) IA in securing Army owned, managed and operated systems, capabilities and networks. The role offers the opportunity to develop cyber security skills, develop your management knowledge and expertise in a challenging yet supportive environment, whilst working with a tight-knit team of like-minded professionals.

Through this role, you will have the opportunity to develop a broader understanding of the security risks facing the Army across the cyber domains. We are recruiting for the following roles -

Secure By Design & Information Assurance Support
Secure By Design & Information Assurance Support Joint Aviation Command
Secure By design & Information Assurance Home Command

Main responsibilities will include:

Support and direct the formulation and implementation of Army IA and cyber security policy
Support external and internal risk management methodologies such as the National Institute for Standards & Technology (NIST) Cyber Security Framework (CSF)
Work with the SEO IA on the management of Army Information Risk, and the processing of Risk Balance Cases to manage non-compliance with policy and Risk Appetite
Support the IA lead for Army in providing Governance, Assurance & Compliance across the Army Digital Enterprise

The successful candidate must be comfortable engaging with wider Defence, Government, and industry. Occasional travel within the UK will be required but this will rarely demand overnight stays.

Specific responsibilities:

Secure By Design & Information Assurance Support

Support the assurance of In-Service Army managed and operated systems, capabilities and networks to ensure continual assurance through to Out of Service Date & Disposal
Assist Field Army Equipment in articulating their Information Assurance and Cyber Risk to inform Risk Management and Balance of Investment decisions for current capabilities
Advise of the appropriate secure disposal (including Gifting) and removal from service of capabilities

Secure By Design & Information Assurance Support Joint Aviation Command

Support the assurance of In-Service JAC managed and operated systems, capabilities and networks to ensure continual assurance through to Out of Service Date & Disposal
Support and direct the formulation and implementation of Army IA and cyber security policy
Assist JAC in articulating their Information Assurance and Cyber Risk to inform Risk Management and Balance of Investment decisions for current capabilities
Support the transfer of Capability from Director Programmes or elsewhere to JAC to ensure that risk is properly managed and compliance maintained



Secure By design & Information Assurance Home Command (Andover / Aldershot)

The Army PSyA Branch is located at the Army Headquarters in Andover and Home Command is located in Montgomery Lines, Aldershot. The expectation is that this post will be based at Andover, but as it develops the role will spend 50% of the in office time at Aldershot or other Home Command locations.

Support the assurance of the development, delivery and operation of Army managed and operated systems, applications and assets that fall within Home Command to ensure continual assurance
Assist Senior Responsible Owners in articulating their Information Assurance and Cyber Risk to inform Risk Management and Balance of Investment decisions for current capabilities within Home Command
