Summary

This is an exciting time within our Headquarters, whilst continuing to deliver operational outputs to our dependent units, military personnel, and their families. You will learn new skills whilst working at pace, as the Headquarters grows and establishes itself in its new role.

Key responsibilities:

Oversee the Management of SHEF across JMC SE, JMC Centre - Area of Responsibility (AoR) and MoD Stafford by providing assurance of compliance to the JMC Command, Command MoD Stafford and Commands within AoR’s.
Conducting assurance on, and providing direction and guidance to all dependencies Regular, Reserve and Army Cadets.
Oversee SHEF management within the AoR, ensuring compliance with Defence and Army policy and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 across all dependencies (Regular, Reserve and Army Cadets).
Produce and review annually, the Commander’s SHEF Statement of Intent, Organisational Structure and annual SHEF Delivery Plan
Monitor, review, and assist Units in progressing Safety Objectives and Targets in their SHEF Delivery Plans.
Conduct the Army Safety and Environmental Management System Audits (ASEMSA) within the JMC’s as per Demand Signal requirements.
Produce and collate visit reports and provide advice (Audit Needs Analysis and advisories).
Monitor remedial and corrective actions, trigger points and trends.
Upload reports onto ARMS2. Support Army Cadet Forces with ARMS2 usage.
Act as the Line Manager for the Executive Officer SHEF.
Provide timely direction and guidance to all dependencies within AoR. Co-ordinate and collate Reports and Returns as requested by Army Safety Centre.
Facilitate JMC SHEF meetings biannually chaired by the Safety Champion/Commander and act as Secretary for these meetings.
Oversee and report on the provision of Safety Training across the AoR, including the delivery of Safety Training which should be mapped out on an annual schedule.
Monitor and record all SHEF risks/issues within the AoR. Advise Commander JMC of SHEF risks/issues and when to elevate.
Advise dependencies of mitigation to be put in place to bring risk to As Low as Reasonably Possible (ALARP).
Monitor all Fire Risk Assessments in AoR, track outstanding Unit actions and assist Units to achieve compliance.
Record all reported Fire Enforcement Notices and assist Units with corrective actions.
Track all Occurrences within AoR using Defence Unified Reporting and Lessons System (DURALS). Identify trends and report any required improvements.
Liaise with and visit Units in order to improve reporting and assist with investigations/audits where needed.
