Description
The Pest Control Officer WCR 2 plays a vital role in maintaining public health and safety by managing and controlling pest populations within designated areas. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can identify, assess, and implement effective pest management strategies. As a Pest Control Officer, you will be working closely with community members, local businesses, and other stakeholders to educate them on best practices for pest prevention and control. Utilizing environmentally friendly methods and adhering to safety regulations is of utmost importance in this role. You will also be responsible for conducting inspections, developing treatment plans, and executing pest control measures in accordance with legal standards. Your expertise will not only help resolve immediate pest issues but also contribute to long-term pest management initiatives for the community. Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections to identify pest infestations and potential sources of pest problems.
Develop and implement effective pest control strategies and treatment plans based on inspection findings.
Educate the public on pest prevention techniques and safe pest control practices.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, treatments, and pest control activities.
Collaborate with local health authorities and environmental agencies to ensure compliance with regulations.
Respond promptly to pest-related inquiries and service requests from the community.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of pest control measures and adjust strategies as necessary.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; further education in pest control or related field preferred.
Certification or license in pest control or pest management is advantageous.
Previous experience in pest control or a similar position is preferred.
Strong understanding of pest biology and behavior, as well as pest control methods.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role.
Excellent communication skills for engaging with community members and stakeholders.
Physical ability to perform fieldwork, including lifting equipment and working in various weather conditions.
