Summary
NWP is the single Navy Command authority responsible for the creation and distribution of the Fleet Commander’s operational publications.
This role is one that is required to operate in a largely independent manner with little oversight from senior leaders. Many decisions are held by this role and works very independently. The successful candidate will be required to deliver visionary management of NWP and to ensure the provision to Navy Command of a range of publications’ services for within the Royal Navy and NATO.
You will also:
Act as the Fleet Commander’s Operational Publications’ Authority and provide management support to Director OAC in the delivery of wider Navy Command outputs as required.
Advise and set policy to ensure accurate Operational Publications are issued appropriate to the operational task. You will support the Fleet Commander’s NATO publishing activities.
Have line management responsibility for the Authors and Editors, as well as taking responsibility for recruitment within NWP.
Provide overarching management and development of the Support team, to ensure effective utilisation of resources across NWP and the wider OAC.
Manage the publishing of e-Publications, on-line libraries and hard-copy digital print, ensuring NWP outputs comply with MOD encryption and document security policies and agreed departmental processes and quality control standards.
Act as lead for NWP Agile delivery.
Liaise with key partner organisations with the OAC and wider Royal Navy on behalf of NWP to ensure wider learning and opportunity for collaborative working.
Act as the NWP representative on the Maritime Warfare Management Group.
To lead a positive culture that champions wellbeing and supports individual needs across the NWP.
