Location: Council HQ, Floor 5, Almada Street, Hamilton

Hours: 35 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday 8.45am - 4.45pm (1 hour unpaid break), Friday 8.45am - 4.15pm (30 minutes unpaid break)

Salary Band: £40,804 - £41,698 per annum

South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture (SLLC) is seeking a proactive and highly organised Business and Administration Officer to lead the day-to-day operations of our Business and Administration team. This is a pivotal role supporting the Chief Executive, Heads of Service, and the Board, and contributing to the continuous improvement of internal processes across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate administrative operations and ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Provide high-level, confidential support to senior leadership and the Board.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for meetings and strategic planning.
  • Identify and implement improvements to administrative processes and service delivery.
  • Liaise professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the service on working groups and contribute to staff training and development.

About You:

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Has experience in minute taking, diary management, and supporting meetings.
  • Demonstrates excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Can manage competing priorities and work under pressure.
  • Understands political sensitivity and maintains confidentiality.
  • Is flexible, resilient, and a strong communicator.

A relevant qualification (e.g., HNC/HND in Business Administration) and knowledge of SLLC’s governance structure are desirable.
