This role is based within the Advice Shop, where the successful candidate will support the delivery of a project funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.


In this role, you will provide advice, assistance and advocacy to help people work toward long term financial security. You will focus particularly on engaging with clients who have been economically inactive for a period of time, by building trust, financial capability, undertaking better off benefit calculations and you will support customers to engage with services by creating short, medium and long term actions/goals.


This project offers a holistic service to address barriers to financial security, providing advice in the areas of welfare benefits, debt, housing and energy advice, so experience in advice giving is essential. Empathy, listening skills and understanding are vital to excel in this role. You will also will advocate on behalf of customers with other Council services and third party organisations, so good communication skills are vital.
