Summary
Fd Army Troops Support Branch provides the control and oversight of the equipment held across the formations and ensures that all required operational and training outputs are delivered. The Equipment Cell is the focal point for the management of vehicles, weapons, and communications equipment.
This post provides an opportunity to develop in a busy and operations focused team. As the Equipment Manager, you will utilise a range of software and management of information systems to ensure that the Fd Army Troops equipment is accurately balanced, the right equipment at the right place at the right time. You will routinely interact with a range of stakeholders: from Army HQ and HQ Field Army, civilian contractors and subordinate brigade headquarters’ across Fd Army Troops. You will join a mixed military and civilian team who are strives to support the readiness requirements of the units and Brigades we support.
The post holder is responsible to Fd Army Tps Support Branch (Equipment) Plans for the provision of Eqpt Management throughout the Command. Also, for maintaining, updating and developing existing databases through close liaison with internal branches, Units, Bdes/Groups, Fd Army and DE&S Equipment Managers.
Manage the transition of Eqpt and Basic Unit Fleet (BUF) requirements across the AOR (Area of Responsibility) in accordance with G3 O&D priorities.
Monitor the accuracy of data via the use of local database and incorporate into ad-hoc reports as required.
Act as the Single Point of Contact for FM on JAMES. Represent the formation at the JAMES Fleet User Groups (JUG).
Represent the HQ on the MARSHAL Development working Group led by Army HQ.
Be the focal point for eqpt accounting related issues and act as the interface between G3 and HQ Branches for vehicle/equipment matters.
Provide Eqpt Management advice on all equipment matters under current HQ Army and Joint Service publications.
Deputise for SO2 Eqpt Plans during periods of leave or absence.
The role focuses on the management and coordination of all military equipment within Field Army Troops. Primarily ensuring that the subordinate Formation’s equipment is accurately balanced to meet the need of Fd Army Troops; the right equipment at the right place at the right time for both operational and major training events.
The role covers equipment resourcing across the planning through the refinement and operate stages of all major events for the divisional formations as well as reacting to short notice demands from higher headquarters. We are therefore looking for an individual who is able to effectively prioritise their tasks.
