Duties:

  • Deal with routine correspondence and enquiries from learners, parents, outside agencies and College staff, referring on to appropriate specialist staff in accordance with college procedures.
  • Carry out a range of student-related administration to support the effective health and wellbeing and positive progress of students.
  • To support and provide an administrative service for student safeguarding files upholding confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintaining information and reporting on data held on the student record system and other administrative systems.
  • To arrange and set up meetings with partners and external agencies where appropriate.
  • Monitor the fitness to study and disciplinary process, administering associated paperwork ensuring copies are sent to students and parents/guardians of students aged under 18.
  • Develop and maintain a log of all student disciplinaries and fitness to study cases in progress, monitor targets and periodically report figures to academic and support staff as appropriate.
  • Minute safeguarding meetings when requested.
  • Update the Safeguarding Information for the college campus as well as communications sent to external stakeholders as and when required.

Skills/Experience:

  • Working successfully with internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with customer service experience.
  • Experience of accuracy and attention to detail in verbal and written communication
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft IT packages
  • Highly motivated professional with a range of industry experience and knowledge within the FE sector

Qualifications:

  • Minimum GCSE Grade 4 / C or equivalent Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English
  • Two years' experience within an administrative role
