Summary

An exciting opportunity to broaden your horizons and learn skills in a successful environment. 
The Faculty of Engineering and Physical Science is seeking an administrator to join the Faculty Operating Service.  Based in The Optoelectronic Research Centre (ORC), you will make an important contribution the day to day running of the ORC, supporting senior members of the academic staff and our research community. The ORC is a research-intensive school with a dynamic and exciting working environment, we have a world leading reputation in photonics and optoelectronics.
Successful applicants will be experienced, motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive team players who are culturally sensitive and are able to work effectively in a flexible and collaborative environment. This post is permanent and full time (36 hours per week).
As a member of our busy administrative team, you will deliver a professional and efficient service including operational assistance and administrative support to the academic community, event organisation, financial administration, organising and minuting meetings, and ordering resources. To be successful in this role you will:
• Have the ability to build effective and credible working relationships and liaise confidently with your stakeholders
• Be adaptable, flexible, proactive and a team player with strong interpersonal skills and a positive and enthusiastic approach.
• Have excellent time management and organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload effectively to meet business requirements 
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and well as up-to-date MS Office skills 
This role may suit either a motivated professional with relevant work experience looking for career development or a recent graduate with some experience looking for an opportunity to explore career opportunities within a higher education environment.
