The role:
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Placements Officer on a temporary basis to support the placement of children and young people in the care of the Local Authority.
This vital role involves the search, identification, and arrangement of appropriate care and/or support placements, ensuring the needs of vulnerable young people are met with compassion and efficiency.
Care and support placements may include Children's residential homes, foster care, supported accommodation and supported lodgings.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify suitable placements for children and young people in care
Liaise with internal teams and external providers to arrange and confirm placements
Maintain accurate records and use relevant IT systems to manage referrals
Communicate clearly and sensitively with professionals, carers, and service users
Work collaboratively to ensure placements meet the individual needs and safeguarding requirements of each child
What the client is looking for:
Relevant experience in children’s social care, housing, placements, or a related field
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong IT and administrative skills, including the use of databases and Microsoft Office
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
A proactive and solution-focused approach
