Working Arrangement: Assume office based as no hybrid arrangements given

The role:
On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Placements / Homefinder Officer to assist with the search, identification and placing of children and young people who are in the care of the Local Authority into care and/ or support arrangements. You will support with the care and support arrangements that include children’s homes, foster care, supported accommodation and supported lodgings.
Previous knowledge and experience in a relevant field is necessary however additional training and support will be provided to the successful candidate. It is essential that you have excellent communication and IT skills
This position is initially agreed for 3 months with view to extend as required, for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities may include:
Identify and secure appropriate placements for children and young people in care.
Work closely with social workers, providers, carers, and partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.
Maintain accurate records and ensure all placement activity is compliant with statutory and local requirements.
Use IT systems effectively to record, track and report on placement activity.
Contribute to the development of a diverse range of placement options to meet varying needs.
What the client is looking for:
Previous experience of working within children’s services and social care
Previous experience of supporting the placing of children and young people, into support arrangements including children’s homes, foster care, supported accommodation and supported lodgings - desirable
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships
Strong IT skills and the ability to manage information accurately and efficiently
A flexible and solution-focused approach to problem solving
