Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach – Athlete Performance Programme [Supply]
The Athlete Performance Programme delivers strength and conditioning services to local athletes, aged 12-18, who represent their sport from club to national level. The sessions are delivered before school [7am-8.30am] and occasionally during the school holidays.
Youth sport is multifactorial and can be challenging – which requires coaches to be adaptable, patient and motivating. As a coaching team, we believe in the importance of personal development, reflective practice, sharing of ideas and professionalism. By developing our coaches’ knowledge and experience within strength and conditioning we create a strong framework for delivery, resulting in both improved sporting performance and overall health and well-being for our young athletes.
Coaches applying to this role must have the skill attributes to work within a team, as well as being proactive and versatile as a coach.
Applicants should hold a minimum of a Level 2 Gym instructor qualification.
Rate of Pay: £13.64 per hour
Location: Allander Leisure centre / Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre

PVG / Disclosure Scotland
The following criteria applies to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential criteria
Where the post you are applying for is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.
Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment.
In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR &OD Manager.
Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.
The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
