East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust (EDLCT) is looking to recruit a Maintenance Assistant based at the Leisuredrome and Huntershill Sports Hub
The Leisuredrome/HSH provides first class facilities to the local community:
- Main swimming pool

- Sauna/Steam Room
- The Gym
- Main Hall
- Outdoor pitches
- Squash Court
- Charlie's Big Adventure soft play
- Flume and Leisure Pool
- Outdoor Tennis Courts (HSH)

The Centre plays a crucial role in delivering exercise fitness and sporting activities to the local communities and beyond. This opportunity has arisen following the postholder retiring following over 32 years service with the organisation. The Maintenance Assistant will support the EDLC team in the effective and efficient maintenance of Leisure Centre buildings, plant and equipment and to assist in the delivery of all service standards.
Duties will include maintaining pool plant and heating systems, general maintenance, health &safety compliance, record keeping, liaising with contractors and supporting capital projects.
The successful candidate will hold a Pool Plant Operators certificate/First Aid at Work qualification. Applications will also be considered from individuals with relevant maintenance experience able to acquire these within a defined period.
The post holders will be required to work outside normal hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. However, the working pattern will be mostly Monday to Friday. Disclosure Scotland checks will apply.

PVG / Disclosure Scotland
The following criteria applies to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential criteria
Where the post you are applying for is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.
Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment.
In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR &OD Manager.
Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.
The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
