At Mencap, we’re looking for a Practice Development Facilitator to join our Culture and Development team. In this role, you’ll co-design and deliver impactful learning experiences that support our colleagues working directly with adults with a learning disability.
The role is full-time (37.5 hours a week) on a permanent basis and is a hybrid home based role, with travel for face-to-face delivery sessions.
You must be willing and have the ability to travel in the south of England (for example London, West Sussex, Hampshire and Wiltshire). This will be to deliver a portfolio of face-to-face workshops for colleagues in Personal Support. There may also be infrequent national travel to attend meetings and other events.
What will you do?
- Deliver engaging induction and practice development workshops (face-to-face and virtual).
- Conduct needs analyses to identify learning and performance gaps.
- Collaborate with the Learning Experience team to design high-quality, inclusive learning interventions.
- Provide coaching, advice, and guidance to colleagues across the organisation.
- Stay up to date with legislation, compliance standards, and best practices in social care.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, curiosity, and professional development.
What will you bring?
- Experience in delivering learning and development in health or social care.
- Strong facilitation skills (virtual and in-person).
- Knowledge of current social care legislation and best practices.
- A passion for developing others and championing inclusion.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and influence others.
- An adult teaching/training qualification or equivalent experience (desirable).
