Summary

Cheshire West and Chester Council are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Highways Engineering Technician post (Grade 6) within our Chester Highways Office. If you are a highly motivated person who is looking for an interesting job not only carrying out general technician duties but also aiding Senior Engineers and working closely with our Term Maintenance Contractor both office and site based, then this is for you.

The Vacancy is for a Highways Technician, Grade 6 within the Guilden Sutton, Chester, Highways Office.

The role will be working within a highly productive Team carrying out duties of general engineering technician duties within the Highways Offices for delivery of works across the Borough.

The principal responsibilities will be to contribute to the Transport and Highways directorate by delivering programmes of work across teams. To ensure effective, efficient, and safe delivery of works within the service for users and the people of Cheshire West & Chester in accordance with Council policies, procedures and resources.

The job requires using a varied element of computer systems including: Autocad, Microsoft Teams; Confirm and Microsoft office applications.

The role is classed as a 'Hybrid' worker which means that the successful applicant will be expected to work both from the office or visiting highways sites (cover in the office will be required as per any agreed rota and any additional cover requirements) however, it may also enable working from home when agreed with their line manager.
