Summary
The Defence Afghan Relocation and Resettlement (DARR) Directorate is an organisation set up to manage the process for identifying eligible Afghans who supported the UK mission in Afghanistan over the past 20 years to come to the UK, and once here to be assisted to begin their new lives with their families. It is important and rewarding work, supporting one of Defence’s highest priorities.
The Directorate is responsible for assessing the applications of Afghans who still wish to relocate to the UK, enabling the relocation of those eligible, and directing and cohering all of the relocation and resettlement activity across the Defence enterprise. Teams work in lockstep with a number of Departments across Whitehall to ensure the relocation and resettlement of eligible Afghans.
This is a brand-new role, which would require the successful candidate to analyse, design, deliver and evaluate training across the directorate focusing on Data, Information and Digital literacy. The sole purpose is to increase knowledge, understanding and efficiencies in this area, while improving behaviours, attitudes, security and safety. This work directly relates to the directorates work on the government’s Data Maturity Assessment.

Promotion on pre-existing Learning and Development material such as Quick Reference Guides, Sharing New and Acquired Knowledge (sessions and MODNET Made Easy.
Face to face training sessions with small teams.
Getting the most out of O365 apps.
Benefits of Data and MI and interpretation for the business.
Bitesize sessions on Data Protection.
‘What is great information management’ session delivered at a Town Hall to ~150 individuals.
One to One coaching at the launch of a new project involving Data, KIM or Data Protection or O365.
On going sessions to help transition to best practice in Data and KIM.
Pre-Recording bite size sessions for training.
This is an exciting new role for anyone who enjoys training, relationship-building and finding out information from other teams to contribute to the better functioning of the wider team and overall department, there will be the opportunity to work across multiple work-streams and responsibilities are likely to evolve over time.
The role holder should have previous experience in a training role and there will be SME support given to help guide, teach and direct to ensure the training is fit for purpose and aligns with relevant MOD policy. Think of this as previously being in a Knowledge and Information Management role or being ahead of the game in the uses of office 365 or other data and digital tools. The role holder should also have a positive track record of the development of self and others
The ability to work flexibly, responding and adapting as required to support overall team delivery in the face of changing work streams and priorities.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Analyse roles and training requirements by liaising with the Data team and across the wider directorate to, identifying gaps in knowledge with a training needs analysis (TNA), risks and opportunities to improve.
Design and prepare a range of training material ensuring it is inclusive, is fit for purpose, and should give staff the skills to perform their functions in a professional and effective manner using the DARR branding.
Promote and organise training sessions both online and face to face in office and pre-existing Learning and Development opportunities.
Deliver training utilising the most appropriate and effective delivery style, ensuring engagement.
Record attendance, performance and share as required.
Evaluate the training by collecting timely feedback during and immediately post-delivery, as well as seeking feedback later to assess the longer-term effects for continuous improvement across DARR.
Continuously improve training by maintain own knowledge, increasing knowledge of the directorate and remaining up to date with tech developments within MOD.
Embed an inclusive culture where everyone feels comfortable voicing their own opinions and ideas.
